Brow Shaping & Lash Treatments

General Information

BROWS VENUE offers a range of specialized treatments for eyebrows, eyelashes, and lips.

All treatments are performed by experienced professionals who undergo continuous training to maintain and further develop their skills, techniques, and professional knowledge. BROWS VENUE does not work with beginner or junior-level professionals. Every member of our team is an experienced specialist with a minimum of five years of professional experience in their field.

The salon and its team are committed to following all applicable hygiene, safety, product storage, and quality requirements and guidelines established by the GGD and other relevant Dutch regulations.

BROWS VENUE maintains strict hygiene and cleaning protocols throughout the salon. Equipment, surfaces, and reusable items are cleaned and disinfected according to the applicable requirements, while single-use instruments and materials are disposed of after each client and are never reused.

We are equally committed to maintaining high professional standards beyond regulatory requirements. Our team regularly participates in advanced training, refinements, and specialized education to continuously improve our techniques, knowledge, and treatment results.

While all professionals follow BROWS VENUE’s standards, protocols, hygiene requirements, and treatment philosophy, each specialist may have their own technique, approach, and area of expertise. Clients are therefore encouraged to review the treatment descriptions and select the professional and service that best suit their needs and desired results.

Deposit, Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

As our treatments are provided on a specific date and at a specific time reserved exclusively for the client, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to these bookings, in accordance with Article 6:230p(e) of the Dutch Civil Code.

Non-Refundable Deposit

A deposit is required to secure your appointment and is non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation, regardless of the reason and time, the deposit will not be refunded, transferred or deducted from another appointment, as the appointment time has been reserved exclusively for you.

Rescheduling

Appointments may be rescheduled without an additional fee when the required notice period is respected:

Cancellation or rescheduling requests made after the applicable notice period, regardless of the reason, may result in the remaining balance of the appointment being charged if the reserved time cannot be filled by another client.

Failure to attend an appointment without prior cancellation (no-show) will result in the full treatment price being charged.

How to Cancel or Reschedule

All cancellations and rescheduling must be completed by the client directly through the cancellation/rescheduling link provided in the booking confirmation.

The online rescheduling link remains available until 48 hours before the appointment. Please note that the availability of this link does not override the applicable cancellation or rescheduling notice period for the treatment booked. Permanent Makeup (PMU) appointments remain subject to the 15-day notice period stated in our PMU cancellation policy.

Once the online link is no longer available, clients must contact the salon by email. Any cancellation or rescheduling request will remain subject to the applicable notice period and cancellation policy.

To prevent any miscommunication, BROWS VENUE does not cancel, change, or reschedule appointments on behalf of clients by telephone, WhatsApp, social media, or email. Contacting the salon through any of these channels does not constitute a valid cancellation or rescheduling request.

Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact information when booking and for keeping track of their appointments. Our automated confirmation email provide the appointment date, time, and booked service(s); however, these notifications are provided as a courtesy and should not be relied upon as the sole means of remembering an appointment. Failure to receive, notice, or read a confirmation or reminder does not exempt the client from our cancellation, rescheduling, no-show, or payment policies.

Booked Services & Reserved Time

Clients are responsible for reviewing their booking details and ensuring that the correct service has been selected. The duration and price of each treatment are clearly stated in the service description during the booking process.

Each appointment reserves both the selected treatment and a specific amount of the professional’s time. For this reason, services cannot be removed from an appointment at the time of the visit due to a change of mind, scheduling conflict, or other last-minute change.

If the client chooses or needs to proceed with a different or shorter service, the amount corresponding to the originally booked service(s) and reserved time will still apply.

Late Cancellations & Last-Minute Changes

We understand that unexpected situations can occur, and we always aim to be as flexible as reasonably possible when a client needs to cancel or change an appointment at short notice.

However, appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice, regardless of the reason for the cancellation or change, remain subject to our cancellation policy.

If, after 48 hours of the notice, the client is unable to attend the appointment for any reason, she will not be able to use the rescheduling link as it expires after 48 hours. The client must then contact the salon via email and we will try to fill the slot with another client. If the slot is not filled, the full amount of the procedure will be charged to compensate for the gap.

If the appointment time is successfully filled with a treatment of equal or greater value, the outstanding cancellation charge will be waived.

Our flexibility in assisting with last-minute changes should not be interpreted as a waiver of the applicable cancellation fee. Each appointment reserves a specific amount of time in our schedule exclusively for the client, and last-minute cancellations may result in a direct loss of income when that time cannot be rebooked.

Late Arrival Policy

To ensure that our schedule runs smoothly and that every client receives the time reserved for their treatment, we kindly ask clients to arrive on time for their appointments.

Our maximum late-arrival tolerance is:

Late arrival, regardless of the reason, does not extend the scheduled appointment time. Depending on the length of the delay and the treatment booked, we may only be able to perform part of the scheduled treatment in order to avoid delays for the following clients.

If the delay makes it impossible to safely or properly perform the treatment within the remaining appointment time, BROWS VENUE reserves the right to cancel the appointment or decline to perform the treatment. In such cases, the appointment will be treated as a late cancellation/no-show and the applicable cancellation and payment policy will apply.

Outstanding Invoices & Collection Costs

Clients who fail to attend their appointment (no-show) or cancel/reschedule outside the applicable cancellation period may be charged the full remaining value of the appointment in accordance with our Cancellation Policy.

When an outstanding balance arises, BROWS VENUE will first send a friendly payment request, giving the client the opportunity to settle the outstanding amount within 24 hours.

If payment is not received within this initial period, a formal payment reminder will be issued. In accordance with Dutch consumer collection regulations, the client will then be given the applicable statutory 14-day period to settle the outstanding amount before collection costs are added.

The formal payment reminder will clearly state the outstanding balance, the payment deadline, and the collection costs that will become payable if payment is not received within the required period. If the outstanding amount remains unpaid after the statutory payment period has expired, statutory collection costs (incassokosten) will be added to the outstanding balance. These costs will be calculated in accordance with applicable Dutch law and are subject to a minimum charge of €40.

In addition to the applicable collection costs, statutory interest (wettelijke rente) may be charged on overdue amounts at the rate applicable under Dutch law.

If payment remains outstanding, BROWS VENUE reserves the right to transfer the claim to a collection agency (incassobureau) or take further legal action. Any additional costs that may legally be recovered from the client will be added to the outstanding balance in accordance with applicable Dutch law.

Future Bookings

BROWS VENUE reserves the right to restrict or decline future bookings from clients with a repeated history of late arrivals, no-shows, late cancellations or rescheduling, unpaid balances, or other recurring conduct that significantly disrupts the salon’s schedule or operations.

Where appropriate, BROWS VENUE may also require full or partial payment in advance as a condition for accepting future appointments.

Any decision to restrict future bookings will be made at the salon’s discretion and based on the client’s booking history and the operational impact of previous appointments.

Allergy & Patch Testing

Although allergic and adverse reactions to the products used in our treatments are uncommon, no cosmetic treatment or product can be guaranteed to be completely free from the risk of an individual reaction.

Clients who wish to assess their sensitivity before undergoing a treatment may book a patch test for tint, henna, Brow Lift, or Lash Lift products.

Following a patch test, the tested area should be monitored for at least 72 hours. If no redness, itching, swelling, irritation, burning, or other unusual reaction occurs during this period, the client may proceed with booking the desired treatment.

Please note that a negative patch test does not guarantee that an allergic or adverse reaction cannot occur during or after the full treatment, as sensitivity may develop or present differently following broader or repeated exposure.

Clients with known allergies, previous reactions to hair dye, henna, lash or brow products, highly sensitive skin, or a history of significant allergic reactions are responsible for informing the professional before booking the treatment.

Adverse reactions can occur despite appropriate product selection, application, and professional care and are not, by themselves, considered evidence that a treatment was performed incorrectly. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Dutch law.

Semi Permanent make Up Treatments

PMU Technique Selection

Our salon offers a range of Permanent Makeup (PMU) techniques. The most suitable technique is determined based on its feasibility and compatibility with each client’s individual characteristics, including the condition and density of the natural brows, skin type and condition, age, and other relevant factors.

At BROWS VENUE, we approach Permanent Makeup as a science. For this reason, the choice of technique cannot be based solely on personal preference, social media trends, or a specific look requested by the client. Our priority is compatibility: selecting the technique that is most appropriate for the client’s skin and natural brows in order to achieve the best possible results, both in the short and long term.

Clients with existing permanent makeup PMU performed by another professional must have the pigment removed by laser before scheduling an intake appointment. It is not possible to book a PMU treatment without first having a consultation.

Clients with a previous procedure who book a PMU appointment without undergoing the intake process will be charged the full amount without receiving the treatment.

Intake Consultation

Because our PMU treatments are highly personalized, we strongly recommend that all clients book an intake/consultation before scheduling their procedure.

During the intake, different techniques and possible outcomes can be discussed and, where applicable, simulated. The consultation also provides an opportunity to clarify questions, discuss expectations, and understand what is realistically achievable. Our goal is for the client to feel fully informed and confident before deciding to proceed with the treatment.

Clients may choose to book a PMU procedure directly without attending an intake consultation first. By doing so, however, the client acknowledges that the final technique, shape, and color must be determined by the professional based on what is considered technically appropriate and safe, while always taking the client’s preferences into consideration.

If, on the day of the appointment, the professional determines that the client’s expectations cannot be aligned with what can safely or realistically be achieved, BROWS VENUE reserves the right not to proceed with the treatment. In such cases, the deposit remains non-refundable and the full amount may be charged in order to cover the slot.

Previous Permanent Makeup

Clients who have previously undergone Permanent Makeup performed by another professional are required to attend an intake/consultation before booking a new PMU procedure with us.

The intake/consultation may only be scheduled once the previous pigment has been fully removed by laser and there are no visible traces of the previous Permanent Makeup.

This requirement is essential because the professional must be able to properly assess the condition, texture, and integrity of the skin. When residual pigment is still present, an accurate assessment may not be possible.

If a client books an intake/consultation despite still having visible pigment from a previous procedure, the consultation fee will be charged in full, even if the professional is unable to perform a complete assessment or recommend a new treatment.

For clients with previous PMU, BROWS VENUE also reserves the right to decline a new procedure if the professional determines that the skin or existing results are unsuitable for further treatment. This may include, but is not limited to, visible scarring, compromised skin, excessive pigment saturation, or undesirable/unpredictable residual pigment colors.

Our Approach & Expected Results

Our goal is to create natural-looking results. We do not offer makeup effects or dark eyebrows.

Color intensity is determined by the professional based on several factors, including the client’s skin, natural features, the selected technique, and the importance of allowing the pigment to fade safely and naturally over time.

Every skin and body responds differently to Permanent Makeup. Pigment retention can vary significantly between clients due to skin characteristics, healing response, lifestyle, metabolism, aftercare, and other individual factors. Some clients may retain more pigment, Results, pigment retention, color intensity, and longevity will naturally vary from person to person and therefore cannot be expected to be identical to another client’s results.

Touch Up appointment & Rescheduling Policy

PMU treatments include two sessions, which must be completed within an interval of 30 to 45 days.

The second session is scheduled at the salon following the first procedure. Once confirmed, this appointment may only be rescheduled with a minimum of 10 days’ notice by email and is always subject to the professional’s availability within the required 30 / 45 day timeframe.

Requests to reschedule the second session with less than 10 days’ notice will incur an additional fee of €200, regardless of the reason for the change.

Please note that touch up rescheduling is subject to availability and can only be accommodated if a suitable alternative appointment is available within this 30/45 day period. If no suitable appointment is available within this timeframe, or if the client is unable to attend any of the alternatives offered within the required period, the second session will no longer be provided as part of the original treatment.

In such cases, the unused second session will be considered forfeited, and no refund, credit, compensation, or replacement session will be provided.

By booking a PMU treatment, the client accepts responsibility for being available for the second session on the date agreed upon at the salon and within the required timeframe. This is particularly important for clients who live outside Amsterdam or outside the Netherlands, as travel arrangements, distance, work commitments, or personal circumstances do not extend the 30 / 45 day deadline.

We therefore strongly recommend that clients consider their availability and travel plans before committing to a PMU treatment.

Contraindications

  • Pregnant women/ breastfeeding
  • People undergoing oncological treatment
  • During the ROACUTAN treatment (only after 6 months of the end of the treatment)
  • Recent surgeries (make sure that any surgical procedures before and after PMU are at least two months apart)
  • Recent use of antibiotics (make sure that the use of this drug at least before PMU has a minimum interval of one month)
  • Haemophilia carriers
  • History of allergies to: propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, dyes, isopropyl alcohol
  • Frontal fibrosing alopecia or skin damage/scars on the eyebrow area (under prior evaluation)
  • People with a history of low blood iron

Iron Levels & Pigment Retention

Iron deficiency and low iron stores may negatively affect pigment retention and healing. Please be aware that even results that fall within the laboratory’s normal reference range may still be relatively low, and pigment retention in these cases can be reduced or unpredictable.

If you have a history of iron deficiency, low ferritin, or related concerns, we strongly recommend having your iron and ferritin levels checked with your doctor before undergoing PMU.

Because individual responses vary, we cannot predict how well the skin will retain pigment when iron stores are low, even when blood test results are technically within the normal reference range. For this reason, poor pigment retention associated with low iron levels is not considered a treatment failure and cannot be guaranteed or corrected through additional complimentary sessions.

Thyroid Conditions & PMU Results

Thyroid conditions and hormonal imbalances may affect the texture, dryness, thickness, and overall condition of the skin, which can influence how the skin responds to a PMU procedure, heals, and retains pigment.

Even when a thyroid condition is being treated and blood test results are within the normal reference range, individual skin characteristics and pigment retention may still be different or less predictable.

If you have a history of thyroid dysfunction or are currently undergoing treatment for a thyroid condition, please inform your PMU professional before booking the procedure.

Because every individual responds differently, we cannot predict or guarantee pigment retention when underlying thyroid or hormonal factors may be influencing the skin. Reduced or uneven pigment retention related to these factors is not considered a treatment failure and cannot be guaranteed to be corrected through additional complimentary sessions.

Alopecia, Skin Texture & Pigment Retention

Clients with partial or complete eyebrow hair loss should be aware that PMU results may behave differently in areas with little or no natural hair. The texture, thickness, oil production, and overall condition of the skin in these areas can vary considerably between individuals and may influence how pigment is implanted, heals, is retained and also its durability.

Certain skin conditions or changes in skin texture, including areas of keratosis, thickened or irregular skin, may make pigment retention particularly unpredictable. Some areas may retain significantly more pigment, creating darker or more concentrated spots, while adjacent areas may retain less pigment or heal lighter. This can result in uneven or patchy retention, even when the same technique, pigment, and implantation method are used throughout the eyebrow.

For clients with alopecia, the absence or reduced density of natural eyebrow hair also means that there is less natural hair available to visually blend and soften the PMU result. For this reason, differences in pigment retention and skin texture may be more noticeable than they would be on eyebrows with a higher density of natural hair.

If you have alopecia or a known skin condition affecting the eyebrow area, please inform your PMU professional before your appointment. An intake consultation is strongly recommended so that the skin can be assessed and realistic expectations can be discussed.

Because skin response and pigment retention can vary considerably in these cases, perfectly uniform retention cannot be guaranteed. Uneven, reduced, or increased pigment retention related to individual skin characteristics or underlying skin conditions is not considered a treatment failure. In case of alopecia or lack of natural hair, book an intake first.

PMU Durability & Fading

The durability of Permanent Makeup typically ranges from approximately 8 to 16 months, depending on the technique performed, skin type, lifestyle, pigment retention, and the natural characteristics and condition of each client’s eyebrows.

It is important to understand that 8–16 months does not mean that the pigment will remain unchanged during this period and suddenly fade afterwards. PMU is designed to fade gradually, month by month, from the moment the procedure has healed.

For this reason, it is completely normal and expected for the eyebrows to appear softer, lighter, and less defined after 4, 6, or more months compared with the freshly healed result. This gradual loss of definition and intensity is part of the natural fading process and is not considered poor retention or a treatment failure.

When Can PMU Be Repeated?

A new PMU procedure is only recommended once the previous pigment has faded by at least approximately 80%. Repeatedly adding pigment before sufficient fading has occurred can lead to excessive pigment saturation and may compromise the appearance and quality of future results.

For this reason, PMU cannot be repeated within the first 12 months following the original procedure, even if the client feels that the color has already faded significantly.

Please note that reaching 12 months does not automatically mean that a new procedure can be performed. The existing pigment must still be sufficiently faded and the skin must be suitable for another treatment.

Clients wishing to have their PMU renewed must first book an intake/consultation, during which the professional will assess the remaining pigment, its color, the condition of the skin, and whether it is appropriate to perform another procedure.

If there is still pigment present, the professional may recommend waiting longer before undergoing a new treatment.

Long-Term Pigment Fading

Our PMU techniques and pigment application are designed to produce soft, gradual fading over time, and this is the expected outcome for the majority of our clients.

However, in a small number of cases, pigment may remain in the skin longer or more visibly than expected. The rate and pattern of fading are individual biological processes and therefore cannot be precisely predicted or guaranteed.

Factors such as skin characteristics, metabolism, prolonged or frequent sun exposure, smoking, certain medications or long-term medication use, lifestyle, and individual healing responses may influence how pigment changes and remains visible in the skin over time. In some clients, residual pigment may therefore persist even after the expected longevity of the treatment.

It is important to understand that the estimated longevity of PMU refers to the period in which the result is expected to remain aesthetically visible and does not guarantee that 100% of the pigment will completely disappear from the skin within that timeframe.

If residual pigment does not fade sufficiently for a new procedure, particularly when changing technique, shape, or desired effect, the professional may recommend or require laser removal before further PMU can be performed.

Individual differences in long-term pigment fading are not considered a treatment failure, and BROWS VENUE cannot guarantee the exact rate or complete disappearance of pigment in every client.

Laser Removal Before a New PMU Procedure

In some cases, clients may be advised or required to undergo laser removal before a new PMU procedure can be performed, particularly when changing techniques, modifying the desired effect, or when there is residual pigment in the skin.

Laser removal can be an essential part of maintaining healthy, natural-looking PMU results over the long term. Its purpose is to sufficiently clear previous pigment from the skin rather than continuously layering new pigment over old pigment, which can lead to oversaturation, undesirable color changes, loss of definition, and limitations for future treatments.

The need for laser removal does not necessarily indicate that a previous PMU procedure was unsuccessful. In some cases, it is simply a necessary step to create a cleaner base and allow the professional to safely achieve a different technique or result.

The professional will determine during the intake consultation whether the remaining pigment is suitable for a new procedure or whether laser removal is required first. BROWS VENUE reserves the right to decline or postpone a new PMU procedure until sufficient removal has been achieved.

Any laser removal required before a new PMU procedure is not included in the treatment price and is the client’s responsibility. BROWS VENUE does not cover, reimburse, or compensate for any costs associated with laser removal, including when removal is recommended or required by our professional before proceeding with a new treatment.

Allergic Reactions & Patch Testing

BROWS VENUE does not provide allergy or patch testing for Permanent Makeup (PMU) pigments.

As with any cosmetic procedure involving products applied to or implanted into the skin, Permanent Makeup carries a potential risk of allergic or hypersensitivity reactions. Although reactions to modern PMU pigments are considered uncommon, the possibility of an individual reaction cannot be completely excluded or predicted.

The professional pigments and products used at BROWS VENUE are modern formulations selected with safety and quality in mind. However, no pigment, product, or patch test can guarantee that an allergic or hypersensitivity reaction will not occur, either immediately or at a later stage.

Clients with a history of allergies, hypersensitivity to cosmetic products, pigments, dyes, metals, or other relevant ingredients are responsible for informing the professional before BOOKING the procedure. When there is a known history of significant allergic reactions or uncertainty regarding a specific ingredient, we recommend consulting a doctor or dermatologist before undergoing PMU.

By proceeding with the treatment, the client acknowledges that allergic reactions, although uncommon, remain a possible risk associated with Permanent Makeup.

SEMI PERMAMENT MAKEU UP – Clients who have previously had any SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP technique performed with other professionals CANNOT book NANOBLADING/SOFT POWDER BROWS with us. This decision is made due to the damage caused to the skin by other professionals. Therefore, even if you have had your old procedure lasered off, we do not perform any semi permanent makeup technique. It does not matter how many years ago, the technique used or if there is nothing left, we will not perform it. If on the day of the procedure we identify any trace of ink or sign of old micropigmentation, the procedure will not be performed and the full amount will be charged.
